The global travel website Tripadvisor recently published its 2025 Travellers’ Choice Awards rankings, naming Cambodia’s Angkor Wat Asia’s most attractive tourist destination again. Two Cambodian sites made the list: Angkor Wat ranked first and Bayon ranked 17th. Other listed attractions include China’s Mutianyu Great Wall, India’s Taj Mahal, Japan’s Fushimi Inari shrine and Vietnam’s War Remnants Museum, reflecting the diversity of Asian tourism.
Industry observers said the renewed international recognition highlighted Angkor Wat’s distinctive architecture, cultural value and global appeal. They said the award could attract more international attention to Cambodia and provide a further boost to its tourism sector.
According to the latest Angkor Enterprise figures, in the first seven months of 2025, Angkor ticket revenue was about US$28.64 million, with more than 610,000 foreign visitors, up 5.39% year on year, indicating continued growth in Cambodia’s tourism market.
