Thai police said a January 30 raid in Don Mueang led to two arrests and the seizure of about 3.8 million baht, with money flows still under investigation.

On January 30, Thailand’s Cybercrime Investigation Command raided a 24-hour car-battery shop in Bangkok’s Don Mueang district, dismantling a covert operation alleged to provide money-laundering services for the online gambling platform DG888. Police seized about 3.8 million baht in cash, reported as approximately US$110,000, and arrested two suspects.
Police said the shop ostensibly bought and sold car batteries but had long been laundering and transferring funds, making it an important money-laundering node in the online-gambling criminal network. Investigations into the money flows and people behind the operation were continuing.
