Inspectors reported improvements at CS TAN after a February 10 visit. Its treatment ponds were about 80% complete, with completion planned for May 2026 and further commitments still to be implemented.

Preah Sihanouk province: Specialists from the General Directorate of Environmental Protection and the Department of Environmental Impact Assessment inspected the CS TAN Co., Ltd. leather-processing factory in Rithy 1 village, Keo Phos commune, Stung Hav district, on February 10, 2026.
The Environment Ministry team found that the factory had implemented wastewater-management improvements after the ministry issued corrective orders to prevent pollution from the dirty wastewater discharged in the past.
The improvements include wastewater-treatment ponds whose construction is now about 80% complete, with completion planned for May 2026.
The factory pledged to improve environmental hygiene and remove the black pipe from the final storage pond to stop wastewater flowing out before properly resuming production and wastewater discharge.
It also agreed to continue additional measures by building treatment ponds suited to leather-processing wastewater and installing preliminary ponds to remove or clean out salts and acids before the full treatment stage.
The Environment Ministry also commended factories, enterprises and companies complying with Cambodian law, particularly the Environment and Natural Resources Code and applicable legal standards, for helping protect the environment and prevent pollution, maintain a sound environmental balance, protect workers’ and employees’ health, and improve public health and the local environment.
