Police reportedly detained several foreign nationals and seized computers and communications equipment during an early-morning March 1 operation.

At around 2 a.m. on March 1, police in Phnom Penh’s Por Sen Chey district searched premises suspected of conducting illegal online scams and arrested several foreign nationals. The district police chief led the operation, which the report describes as tense.

Officers found computers, communications devices and related network equipment inside, initially identifying them as tools used for online scams. Police said the operation followed previously gathered intelligence and targeted suspected internet fraud and other offences.

The people involved and the evidence were transferred to the relevant agencies for legal handling, and the case remained under investigation. Police urged the public to report suspicious online activity to help maintain public security and online safety.
