Provincial councillor Prak Chansokha, department director Sao Kan, and deputy local leaders from cities, districts, communes and sangkats attended at the department’s meeting hall.\nPrak Chansokha said the course aimed to increase knowledge and awareness of positive parenting and encourage changes in social habits, attitudes and behaviour that support raising children without harsh punishment or violence. It also promoted seeking help and a willingness and interest in receiving further parenting support.\nShe added that the government led by Prime Minister Hun Manet had identified five priorities—people, water, electricity, roads and technology—in the first phase of its Pentagonal Strategy. It also emphasised gender equality and women’s empowerment across all sectors, through stronger citizenship in an ethical, equitable, inclusive and highly civilised society.\nDepartment director Sao Kan said the training was an important part of translating commitments in the Ministry of Women’s Affairs’ sixth Neary Rattanak strategy into practical action and real social benefits.\nPositive parenting was described as a demanding task requiring patience, warmth, clear goals and problem-solving skills.\nParents want the best for their children and hope they will grow up healthy, with good morals and manners, knowledge and skills, and a promising future in which they can establish their own families and uphold the country’s good traditions and culture.\nThe course also aimed to give participants further experience to share more effectively with target groups in their communities.\nWritten by Pai Sokhim\nPhotographs by Teav Vichat","contentScope":"full","proof":{"publishedSourceRevision":"1","publishedWorkingVersionId":"14335","languageVersionId":"9074","visibilityVersion":"2","versionToken":"a1.Q9-yziZCetbNx8wlnIr8I1Xz18QYA-Rdlg7Mmu666k4"},"availableLocales":["zh","en","km"],"attributes":{"sourceLocale":"km","translationKind":"machine","nodeId":"12","authorText":"","sourceName":"KPS99TV"},"references":[],"links":[],"publishedAt":"2026-03-31T09:31:40Z"}
