Angkor Enterprise reported 359,571 international visitors and about US$17.2 million in ticket revenue in January–May 2026, down 31.86% and 29.98% respectively from the same period a year earlier.

On June 1, Angkor Enterprise released figures for January–May 2026: Angkor received 359,571 international visitors and earned US$17,204,322 in admission revenue.
Compared with the same period a year earlier, international visitor numbers fell 31.86% and admission revenue declined 29.98%.
Although Angkor bears World Heritage status and remains a leading destination for visitors to Cambodia, the simultaneous declines in visitor numbers and ticket income highlight weakness in the international visitor market.
The sharp decreases suggest that the bustling visitor numbers of the past had not returned during the first five months of the year, and the recovery in international demand remained weaker than expected and below the previous year’s level.
As a prominent symbol and indicator of Cambodian tourism, Angkor’s fall in visitors and admission revenue reflects both its own challenges in attracting visitors and the difficulties facing the wider tourism recovery.
Restoring enthusiasm among international travellers has become an urgent challenge for the local tourism industry.
