# Hun Sen says China is indispensable to Cambodian infrastructure and economic development

During a 26 June meeting in Beijing, Hun Sen discussed economic, infrastructure and security cooperation with Xi Jinping and requested continued Chinese support, according to his spokesperson.

At a working meeting in Beijing on the morning of 26 June, Senate President and Cambodian People’s Party President Hun Sen met Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China and China’s president. Hun Sen said China’s role was indispensable in building Cambodia’s infrastructure and economy.

ជា ធីរិទ្ធ, Hun Sen’s spokesperson, said the two leaders discussed expanding economic and infrastructure cooperation, and that Hun Sen particularly requested continued Chinese support for infrastructure development in Cambodia. 

Hun Sen reiterated that China’s role was indispensable to Cambodian infrastructure and economic development. The two sides also discussed strengthening security cooperation, exchanging information and exchanges of visits by senior delegations.
