Provincial, district and commune officials assessed drought-affected wet-season rice fields in Kampong Chhnang on September 3, 2026.

On September 3, 2026, a team from the Kampong Chhnang Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, led by Deputy Director Ms. ហេង គឹមស្រៀង, inspected and assessed farmers’ wet-season rice fields. Leaders and specialists from the agronomy, agricultural community development and accounting offices joined the visit.
The team worked with the district office of agriculture, natural resources and environment, alongside agricultural officers from the communes of ស្វាយ, ត្បែងខ្ពស់, ស្វាយជុក, ពាម, ឈានឡើង and ក្រាំងល្វា.
The inspection sought to establish the area of wet-season rice fields affected by, or at risk of damage from, prolonged drought across the district. The report attributed the drought to the effects of El Niño. Officials aimed to identify timely relief measures and address the difficulties facing farmers.
