Cambodia considers this act an infringement on its sovereignty and territorial integrity and has once again lodged a protest with Thailand.\nThe ministry stated that, based on the 1904 Franco-Siamese Convention, the 1907 Treaty and related boundary maps, Cambodia determined that the area in question belongs to Cambodian territory, and considered the Thai action to be in violation of the memorandum of understanding on the survey and demarcation of the land boundary signed by the two countries in 2000.\nThe statement also noted that Cambodia considered the act inconsistent with the ceasefire and de-escalation arrangement reached between Cambodia and Thailand on December 27, 2025. Cambodia reiterated that it does not recognize any boundary line or territorial claim unilaterally put forward by Thailand.\n\nThe Cambodian government demanded that Thailand stop the relevant action, refrain from further unilateral measures, and take concrete steps to reduce border tensions and promote mutual trust between the two sides.\nCambodia also stressed that the action would not affect its legal rights and existing position on international boundary issues, and said it would continue to handle border disputes in accordance with international law and existing agreements between the two countries.\nThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that Cambodia advocates a peaceful resolution of border issues with Thailand and other neighboring countries, and insists that international borders should not be altered by force. Cambodia has also recently protested to Thailand over activities in the Thmar Da area.","contentScope":"full","proof":{"publishedSourceRevision":"3","publishedWorkingVersionId":"11030","languageVersionId":"2832","visibilityVersion":"5","versionToken":"a1.FEKllNSkUaa9NMLfLdm3G4IBe0eP6zAFsq_eEIBlnU4"},"availableLocales":["zh","en","km"],"attributes":{"sourceLocale":"zh","translationKind":"machine","nodeId":"172","authorText":"","sourceName":""},"references":[],"links":[],"publishedAt":"2026-10-03T10:46:13Z"}
