四名渔民于1月11日获释后，柬方通过外交照会要求泰方归还被扣渔船及全部渔具，并就其所称侵犯主权与管辖权的行为提出抗议。

柬埔寨外交与国际合作部已向泰国驻金边大使馆递交正式抗议照会，就泰国海军1月初在国公省海域扣押渔船及拘捕四名柬埔寨渔民一事提出交涉。
外交部在致泰国大使馆的照会中表示，柬埔寨渔船于2026年1月6日上午11时30分，在北纬11°33'30"、东经102°51'39"的位置被扣押；柬方主张该坐标位于其海域内。
根据照会内容，柬方欢迎四名渔民于2026年1月11日全部获释，同时正式要求泰方归还被扣的柬埔寨渔船及全部渔具。
柬方对外交部所称“侵犯柬埔寨主权及管辖权”的行为提出强烈抗议，并要求泰方今后避免采取类似行动。
