Ten Vietnamese nationals, including six women, have been deported from Cambodia after being found to have been illegally residing in the country, working illegally and using narcotics, the General Department of Immigration said on October 26, 2026. The deportation was carried out through the Cambodian-Vietnamese border checkpoint in Kampot province, under the orders of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha and the instructions of General Command of the General Department of Immigration Director-General Lt. Gen. Sok V Meas, who instructed the competent authorities to implement the procedures in accordance with the law. The operation is in line with the Royal Government of Cambodia’s policy under the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to prevent and suppress the use of Cambodian territory as a haven for criminal activity or violence that threatens the safety of communities and the world. Under the leadership of the Minister of Interior, the security forces continued to strengthen enforcement in accordance with the law, conduct thorough investigations, and assist victims of trafficking so they can receive freedom and safely return to their home countries. The law enforcement action against foreign nationals who violate Cambodian law is intended to help maintain peace, social stability and public safety within the Kingdom of Cambodia.
