The Preah Sihanouk provincial government and provincial military police jointly launched a campaign to educate the public and organize the parking of heavy trucks along Sihanoukville’s coastline to improve urban beauty and traffic safety. The event was held on the morning of October 27, 2026, under the instructions of Mang Sineth, Governor of Preah Sihanouk province and Chairman of the Provincial Administration Board, with a demonstration by Senior Military Police Lieutenant General Sao Rada, Deputy Chief of the National Military Police for Preah Sihanouk province. Lieutenant General Try Chan Pheang, Director of the Military Police Headquarters, led a working team to deploy to the coastal area of Phum 2, Sangkat Preah Sihanouk, Sihanoukville city. During the event, the technical department and the provincial administration instructed vehicle owners and drivers whose heavy trucks were parked along coastal roads and public land to respect traffic laws and properly park at designated spaces. The provincial administration also coordinated and recommended designated roadside parking spaces so drivers could park their vehicles in an orderly manner. Heavy-truck parking without regulation in the Sihanoukville coastal area, one of the province’s important tourist areas, can affect local beauty, disrupt tourist travel, and pose a safety risk to the public and traffic flow. The Preah Sihanouk provincial administration therefore called on transport companies, business owners, and all heavy-truck drivers to participate in maintaining orderly traffic by avoiding stopping or parking heavy trucks on roadways, public land along coastal areas, and various public roads. Obeying traffic laws and parking at designated locations will help reduce congestion, improve traffic safety, and ensure that the city of Sihanoukville and other tourist destinations in Preah Sihanouk province remain orderly and clean.
