3,615 Join Phnom Penh Pink Charity Run; Thousands of Women Receive Free Breast Cancer Screening

The fourth AIA Pink Charity Run was held on the morning of October 25 in front of Wat Phnom park in Phnom Penh, drawing 3,615 participants from 36 countries and regions. The event aimed to raise public awareness of breast cancer prevention and promote continued physical activity and healthy living. Of the participants, 3,210 were Cambodian and 405 were foreign nationals, with the international runners mainly coming from the Philippines, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia. The event offered 10-kilometer, 5-kilometer and 2.5-kilometer races, which drew 1,512, 1,233 and 870 entrants, respectively. The secretary-general of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia said that, in addition to promoting sports, the event hoped to help more women obtain breast cancer screening and treatment services. He noted that the organization of this year's event had improved with the support of the Cambodian government, Phnom Penh municipality and partners such as sponsor AIA. During the event, the organizers also provided free breast cancer screening services to thousands of women, helping raise public attention to women's health and the early prevention of breast cancer. Distinguishing routine health awareness activities from actual medical services, the organizers also called on the public to prioritize screening and develop habits of regular exercise.
