Cambodia and Singapore have taken another step in digital finance cooperation. ACLEDA Bank recently announced the launch of the first phase of their cross-border QR payment project. National Bank of Cambodia Governor Chea Serey presided over the launch, marking a new stage in financial connectivity, trade, investment and tourism facilitation. Launched jointly by ACLEDA Bank and Singapore's Liquid Group Pte. Ltd., the first phase allows Cambodian users to make QR payments in Singapore. Travellers with Cambodian riel accounts can use the ACLEDA app to scan SGQR Roam codes provided by Singapore merchants for real-time payments. The service is presented as fast, secure and more convenient for cross-border spending. The project aims to promote local-currency use, bilateral trade, investment and tourism, and sustainable economic development. Chea Serey said it was an important step in regional payment interoperability and aligned with ASEAN efforts to expand the digital economy and financial innovation. ACLEDA said it would extend cross-border QR services to India and other regional partners while improving financial connectivity and payment convenience. Compiled by this station
