From the evening of November 19 to midday on November 20, strong late-season winds swept through Prey Nob district in Preah Sihanouk province, causing widespread damage. Preliminary figures showed that 1,236 homes were affected: roofs on 1,235 homes were partly or extensively torn off or damaged, and one house collapsed completely. A total of 7,501 roofing sheets were damaged or blown away. Public facilities were also affected, including damaged roofs on four school buildings and a police station whose roof was torn off, disrupting normal operations in some areas. After the storm, the Prey Nob district administrative command immediately mobilized personnel to work with local officials on rescue operations and damage assessments in affected areas, and coordinated assistance from relevant departments. Local authorities said they would continue monitoring the situation and accelerate repairs, accommodation arrangements and recovery work to help residents return to normal life.
