Cambodia’s military has strongly rejected Thai media reports alleging that border casinos were being used as bases for drone operations. It called the claims baseless and accused those spreading them of misleading the public and undermining peace along the border. Some Thai media reports on November 24 cited anonymous sources in Thailand’s Second Army Region as claiming that Cambodia was using commercial buildings near the border for military purposes, including drone surveillance or operations against Thailand. The reports attracted public attention. Cambodian military officials publicly denied the allegations, calling them a fabricated, one-sided account. They said Cambodia had never used civilian buildings in the border area for military activities. Instead, they accused Thailand of repeatedly operating drones over the border and displaying attack drones on social media, describing that as the real threat to stability. Cambodia urged the public not to be misled by malicious information and reaffirmed its commitment to border peace and civilian safety. Compiled by this station
