Temperatures are forecast to fall to 18°C in Kampong Speu, Pailin, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri provinces, as well as the Dangrek and Cardamom mountain ranges. The report attributes the cooling to a low-pressure system in the western Pacific and South China Sea developing into the twenty-seventh storm, Koto (T2527), strongly affecting the northeast monsoon over the Mekong basin, Cambodian waters, the Andaman Sea and Cambodia.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology said Cambodia, near the storm’s path, would experience an impact level of only 20% between November 26 and 30. Its notice forecasts temperatures down to 18°C in some areas from November 28 to 30, 2025, with no rain. Temperatures in lowland and coastal areas would fall to 20°C, while sea waves would range from 0.50 to 1.50 metres.
