A Chinese man described as the main perpetrator in the killing of South Korean university student 朴敏浩 in a Cambodian online-scam compound was arrested by Cambodian police yesterday. South Korea's Maeil Business Newspaper reported today that Cambodian investigators had arrested a Chinese suspect surnamed Li in Phnom Penh yesterday on suspicion of murder and other crimes. He was detained while eating with others at a Phnom Penh restaurant in the early morning. File photo: South Korean police receiving online-fraud suspects repatriated from Cambodia last month The South Korean Embassy in Cambodia has been notified by local police of the main suspect's arrest and will consider whether Li can be extradited to South Korea. The South Korean university student 朴敏浩 lost contact after arriving in Cambodia on July 17 this year and was found dead in a vehicle in Kampot city on August 8. A forensic examination found that he had been severely beaten before his death and that his body bore clear signs of torture, including bruises and wounds. Police subsequently arrested three Chinese suspects, who were charged in a local Cambodian court last month, and pursued a fourth person. With Li's arrest, the report declares that the case has officially been solved. The other three suspects were charged in October Li is accused of directing others to torture and kill 朴敏浩, who was in his twenties, near Bokor Mountain in Cambodia in August this year.
