The Chak Angre Krom–Prek Pra bridge project across the Bassac River reached 53% completion by the end of November 2025, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport said on the afternoon of November 30. Further bridge-girder shifting work is planned and may cause congestion and inconvenience to road users.
To ensure safety during the girder-shifting work, the ministry notified people travelling on National Road 2 at the site that traffic would be closed for short periods, potentially causing congestion and disruption. The work is scheduled in the western bridge construction area around pier 5, crossing National Road 2 near the ACE school, from November 29 to December 1, 2025, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.
Construction of the Chak Angre Krom–Prek Pra bridge across the Bassac River was officially launched on February 19, 2024. Its western side is in Chak Angre Krom sangkat, Meanchey district, and its eastern side is in Prek Pra sangkat, Chbar Ampov district, Phnom Penh.
The project has a total length of 1,650 metres, comprising an 845.70-metre bridge with a 27-metre roadway width and 804.30 metres of approach roads, also 27 metres wide. It is being built by Shanghai Construction, with Guangzhou Wan'an serving as project consultant.
