A white Toyota ViGo bearing Phnom Penh registration 2BT-2837, which dropped goods onto the expressway, was stopped by the expressway company's team working with police stationed on the expressway. An undertaking was obtained, guidance was provided and a fine was imposed under the Road Traffic Law. Ministry of Public Works and Transport spokesperson Phorn Rim disclosed this on 4 December 2025. The action followed reports from expressway users who saw the vehicle speeding without due care, causing a cargo box to fall onto the expressway and scatter sparks across the road. Fortunately, it did not cause an accident involving other people. Immediately after the incident, the spokesperson called on the owner of the vehicle matching that description to come forward and resolve the matter with the Phnom Penh–Sihanoukville Expressway company. By the time of the report, the competent authorities had already provided guidance to the owner, obtained an undertaking and imposed a fine in accordance with the law.
