Yesterday afternoon, Cambodia’s military said Thai forces had suffered fairly severe military losses in the relevant battlefield sectors. It claimed that, in that day’s fighting, at least 20 Thai tanks were destroyed, nearly 10 heavy artillery pieces were destroyed and a substantial number of armoured vehicles were damaged. It also claimed severe Thai casualties in several of the most fiercely contested areas, with many dead soldiers left on the battlefield. .. The report further stated that these were results for a single day, occurring mainly in the Fourth Military Region and certain operational directions, and did not represent conditions along the entire front.
