At 10 a.m. on December 16, 2025, immigration authorities in Thailand’s Tak province completed the deportation of 100 Chinese detainees with assistance from China’s embassy in Thailand. The people had been held at the second foreign-detainee detention centre pending repatriation and left in an orderly manner via the Mae Sot airport route, which the report locates in Tha Sai Luat. Thai immigration authorities and China’s embassy jointly organised the operation with support from special forces. Officials described it as the result of longstanding cooperation and information sharing between Thailand and China, focusing on people linked to online scams, overstaying and cross-border offences. They said the process followed Thai law and international standards and safeguarded the deportees’ basic rights and safety. Compiled report by this outlet ..
