Three Khmer antiquities will soon return to Cambodia from the United States: a head of Harihara from the 10th century, a female deity (Uma?) from the early 10th century, and Prajnaparamita from the late 12th century.
Cambodia’s Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts said that, following years of negotiations between the Cambodian working group and the National Museum of Asian Art of the Smithsonian Institution in the United States, the Smithsonian Institution’s board formally decided on October 27, 2025, to return the three Khmer antiquities to Cambodia.
