On the afternoon of December 26, the Pursat Provincial Department of Environment rejected reports that Thai troops had seized two lions and three bears from a casino in the Thma Da area of Pursat province after the Thai military began attacking Cambodia.
The department said Thailand had fabricated the story to portray itself as a protector of wildlife, when it was actually old news from Thailand. It accused Thailand of currently invading Cambodia, killing people and animals and destroying the earth’s natural environment without human compassion.
