Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet met on December 31, 2025, with the 18 Cambodian soldiers who had just been released and returned by Thailand. In a social media post, he wrote: “It took a little time, but we never forgot you.” His full message follows: It took a little time, but we never forgot you. Today, the Royal Government has fulfilled the three important duties for our 18 heroic servicemen that we set out immediately after you were captured on July 29, 2025—exactly 155 days ago. Those duties were: 1) protecting your lives; 2) ensuring your health and safety; and 3) securing your freedom. Congratulations to all 18 servicemen on regaining your freedom and returning to reunite with your families. By: Chinta Titi
