Cambodia’s national airline recently welcomed two brand-new ATR72-600 passenger aircraft, which successfully completed their first flights at Techo International Airport in Kandal province on the afternoon of January 3. Airline management held a Buddhist holy-water blessing ceremony for the aircraft that day, praying for safe flights and smooth operations. The ATR72-600 is a turboprop passenger aircraft widely used in the global regional aviation market. Known for fuel efficiency and short take-off and landing capabilities, it is suited to regional and domestic routes. The report said adding the type would help improve operating efficiency and service on Cambodia’s domestic and nearby routes. The report described Techo International Airport as one of Cambodia’s important aviation hubs, with infrastructure and service capacity continually improving in recent years. It said the airline’s fleet expansion showed confidence in the continued recovery of the aviation market and reflected a strategy to accelerate route development and strengthen competitiveness.
