On January 8, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Cambodia presented future plans for a Saudi embassy in Phnom Penh to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn. The meeting also marked the ambassador’s completion of his diplomatic mission in Cambodia and served as a courtesy farewell. During the talks, the ambassador said Saudi Arabia would send business delegations covering agriculture, energy and other key sectors to Cambodia to advance cooperation in agriculture, food security and energy. He emphasised Saudi Arabia’s commitment to deepening strategic cooperation and confidence in future development. Prak Sokhonn welcomed this and said Cambodia would continue strengthening ties with Saudi Arabia in the economy, tourism and human-resource development. He mentioned the potential for direct flights between Phnom Penh and Riyadh and thanked Saudi Arabia for its long-standing scholarships for Cambodian students. He also hoped Saudi Arabia would provide more support in science, engineering and other fields to further develop Cambodia’s human resources. Compiled by this station.
