ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn met Cheam Vidya, who had recently been appointed Secretary-General of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA). The report described the simultaneous presence of two Cambodian figures in senior ASEAN-related leadership posts as a new chapter in history.
Kao Kim Hourn has served as ASEAN Secretary-General since the beginning of 2023, while Cheam Vidya began serving as AIPA Secretary-General on January 1 this year for the 2026–2028 term.
