On January 21, 2026, the ASEAN Observer Team visited border areas in Sampov Loun and Phnom Proek districts, Battambang province, to observe, verify and report on the situation following the ceasefire. The team inspected civilian homes and a referral hospital described in the report as severely damaged by Thai attacks in December 2025.
