Chrun Theravat, personal adviser to Prime Minister Hun Manet and secretary of state at the Ministry of Rural Development, gave subordinate officials guidance on continuing their duties more effectively, focusing on five programmes. First, develop and maintain resilient rural transport infrastructure by upgrading road quality and ensuring sustainable maintenance. Second, provide clean water and improve rural sanitation at both basic and safe service levels, with resilience and inclusion. Third, develop rural communities, particularly integrated development and continued implementation of One Village One Product and resilient, inclusive model-village movements. Fourth, sustainably increase rural household incomes by diversifying household economies, occupations and employment innovation. Fifth, strengthen governance, digitalisation and cooperation. He made the remarks while chairing a dissemination meeting on the National Policy on Rural Development 2025–2035 at Bokor Conference Hall in Kampot province on February 2, 2026. He praised and highly evaluated the ministry's progress and thanked leaders and civil servants at every level for actively fulfilling their assigned duties to meet the ministry's strategic-plan goals and work towards the national policy's vision: building a prosperous, inclusive, equitable and sustainable rural society in Cambodia. He added that these achievements had responded directly to people's goals and requests and formed an important foundation for implementing the government's political programme and the first phase of the Pentagonal Strategy.
