Maha Mitt Sports Club launched its first under-23 youth football tournament on the afternoon of February 14, 2026, under the theme “Dreams and Talents of Preah Sihanouk Youth”. Deputy Governor Samut Sothearith attended the opening with numerous officials and other guests. The deputy governor said the provincial administration encouraged sport and provided support in various forms, including physical infrastructure and sports equipment in public places, to encourage residents to care for their health. He described health as a valuable asset for everyone, regardless of age, gender, status or position. In his view, exercise and sport improve physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual wellbeing, help prevent fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes and some chronic illnesses, reduce healthcare spending, and support family, community and Cambodian society’s economy and harmonious development. He stressed that the competition sought to encourage more young people and students to take part in football and develop human resources in Preah Sihanouk. Seven youth teams entered the first under-23 tournament: Bull FC, the Medical team, Sing Sing, Maha Mitt, A.M.T., Storm and Foxy. Article: Nget Pisant. Photos: Pai Sokhim.
