Siem Reap was bustling on the evening of February 21, 2026, as provincial residents and many domestic and international visitors joined and watched the 2026 Giant Puppet Parade. The procession set off from Wat Damnak and headed toward the gardens near Siem Reap’s Royal Residence, with elaborate arrangements bringing enjoyment to spectators. This year’s event, themed “Wild Parade!”, celebrated and raised awareness of Cambodia’s remarkable wildlife, from familiar animals to rare and endangered species. The 2026 giant puppets represented: 1. Eld’s deer; 2. white pigeon; 3. hairy-nosed otter; 4. Asian elephant; 5. yellow-cheeked gibbon; 6. firefly; 7. Cardamom marbled gecko; 8. great hornbill. Beyond entertainment, the event educated the public about conserving natural resources and wildlife, helping preserve the country’s natural heritage for future generations. By KPS99TV.
