On the morning of February 22, Cambodian Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth visited a freshwater and riverside ecological recreation area in Sihanoukville. Privately funded, the new attraction combines ecotourism, water recreation and dining. The minister praised the private sector’s innovation as a way of supporting the government’s coordinated nationwide approach to tourism development. According to the report, the new area is in Ream commune, Preah Sihanouk province, and focuses on mangrove experiences and riverside sightseeing. Visitors can take boat trips, try water cycling and enjoy local food, adding a leisure option beyond the islands. The minister said such combined ecological and recreation projects would diversify local tourism products and increase their appeal. The governor said the attraction had become a popular local leisure destination and that supporting facilities would continue to improve to draw more domestic and international visitors. He invited people from across Cambodia to experience the province’s beaches, islands, waterfalls and national parks and its diverse tourism resources. Compiled by KPS99TV.
