On February 23, Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth and Preah Vihear Governor Kim Rithy visited families staying at the Wat Bak Kam safety centre in Tbeng Meanchey district, Preah Vihear province, to learn about their living conditions and offer support. The centre accommodates more than 800 households. Many families grow vegetables and raise poultry, including laying ducks. Their own production meets much of their daily needs, and the report described conditions at the centre as orderly. During a January 31 visit, Prime Minister Hun Manet announced three measures: helping families who can return home, arranging accommodation for those still unable to return, and restoring damaged infrastructure.
