Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport informed the public that some people had recently altered a video originating abroad, adding Khmer-language audio and posting it to create the misleading impression that unlawful violence against a girl had occurred in a Cambodian classroom.
The ministry said editing, posting and circulating such videos reflected prejudicial intent, polluted the social environment and would face legal consequences.
It urged the public to pay attention to information with clear sources and not post or share information of unclear origin or prejudicial intent, to avoid harming individuals’ or institutions’ reputations. By Pai Sokhim
