A black-oil processing site was engulfed by fire, which spread to an adjacent machinery-repair workshop and destroyed its contents. Police deployed eight fire engines to contain the blaze. The incident occurred on the night of March 7, 2026, along a concrete road in Tuol Sangkae 2, Russey Keo district, Phnom Penh. Residents said they heard two explosions before the fire but did not know what had exploded; they then saw flames coming from the oil-processing site. Employees immediately tried using water hoses to extinguish it, but the large amount of oil made it uncontrollable, prompting them to contact specialist firefighters to prevent further spread. The report said one oil-processing site, one motorcycle with a trailer and some equipment were completely burned, while the fire also destroyed an adjoining machinery-repair workshop and its equipment. Authorities were investigating the cause. Eight fire engines from the Phnom Penh Municipal Police’s Fire Prevention, Firefighting and Rescue Office took part in the response.
