Preah Sihanouk: Ou Treh pagoda will organise a selection examination for monk candidates entering its Buddhist lower-secondary school, described as a rotating examination. Candidates will come from four provinces, with Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kampong Speu and other provinces listed. Together with all examination committees, about 330 monks and laypeople are expected. The examination is planned for a full day on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The announced Buddhist calendar date is the eleventh waning day of Phalguna, Year of the Snake, Saptasak, Buddhist Era 2569. The appeal respectfully invites royalty, leaders, officials, local administrations, relevant departments, benefactors and Buddhist followers to contribute funds, meals, drinks or other supplies according to their means. Meal-table sponsorship is 300,000 riels per table. Contributions will provide two meals—breakfast and lunch—and drinks twice, in the morning and evening, for monks and examination committee members participating in the programme.
