As of early March 2026, the four-lane widening and upgrading of National Road 7 from Skun to Kampong Cham had reached 89.88% overall completion, according to Public Works and Transport Ministry spokesperson Phan Rim. The stated project length is 45.504 kilometres, with chainage PK000+000–PK45+502.84, running from Cheung Prey district to Kampong Cham city. Construction is being accelerated. Phan Rim said the pace of work could allow the project to finish during 2026, ahead of the original schedule. National Road 7 is an important transport and economic corridor, facilitating travel and the movement of agricultural and agro-industrial products and supporting national socio-economic activity. The spokesperson urged drivers on the Skun–Kampong Cham section to remain alert and drive at controllable speeds for their own and others’ safety. He thanked roadside residents and road users for their understanding during construction. Written by Nget Pisant.
