Preah Sihanouk Deputy Governor Long Dimanche said inspection of KUBON’s animal-hide processing factory was necessary before responding to its request to restore electrical capacity to the previous level. The company seeks to test machinery and filtration tanks expected to be completed soon. He considered the inspection an indication of the company’s willingness to correct deficiencies in line with instructions and technical standards so production could eventually resume. He made the remarks while leading a joint team on April 3, 2026 to inspect treatment-tank construction at KUBON (CAMBODIA) BIOTECHNOLOGY CO., LTD., in សាមគ្គី commune, Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk. The report recalls that the factory had polluted the environment and affected surrounding biodiversity. On October 22, 2025, Long Dimanche led a provincial team that suspended all production and reduced electrical capacity to the minimum pending corrections to technical standards. Writer: Pai Sokhim.
