Preah Sihanouk: Efforts to combat technology-related crime continued as provincial gendarmerie raided a concealed suspected online scam site in Village 1, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville, on the night of June 18, 2026.
The operation followed instructions from General Sao Sokha, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the National Gendarmerie, and Mang Sineth, under the direct command of Brigadier General ហេង ប៊ុនទី, Commander of the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Gendarmerie.
According to the report, at 11:30 p.m. on June 18, 2026, Lieutenant Colonel សួ ស៊ន, head of the provincial gendarmerie’s investigation and crime suppression department, led 15 specialist personnel to the site, with legal coordination by វុធ សាវី, deputy prosecutor at the provincial court of first instance.
The authorities detained 18 people, including two women, and seized a large quantity of equipment and evidence allegedly used for technology-based fraud.
The 18 suspects and evidence have been sent to provincial gendarmerie headquarters for questioning, case preparation and further legal proceedings.
