On the afternoon of 26 June 2026, Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth led specialist teams to inspect water levels and drainage streams and canals at key locations in Sihanoukville and កំពង់សោម city after repeated rainfall. The inspection sought to identify challenges, find solutions and establish necessary measures to improve drainage, reduce flood risks and protect residents during the rainy season. The provincial administration urged everyone to help maintain the environment and public hygiene by keeping rubbish out of streams, canals and drainage systems, because waste could block waterways and contribute to urban flooding. Public participation in hygiene and drainage protection was described as important to a clean city, a healthy environment and safe communities for everyone. By: Pai Sokhim
