Persistent rain had flooded roads and bridges and disrupted travel in the northwestern provinces of Pailin, Pursat and Battambang. By the morning of July 5, 2026, the floodwater had receded, although drizzle continued without a break, according to Public Works and Transport Ministry spokesperson ផន រឹម. ផន រឹម said continuing rain in the northwest had briefly flooded roads and bridges under the Ministry of Public Works and Transport’s management, causing some disruption to public travel. Citing updates from the public works and transport departments of Pailin, Pursat and Battambang on the morning of July 5, 2026, the spokesperson said the water had receded while drizzle continued. Samlot district administration in Battambang said water in the ក្រញូង and បរឡាង streams had risen only slightly. In a July 4 notice, it urged residents living along streams, canals and waterways to remain highly vigilant for the safety of older people and children and to protect property and belongings, because rain had not stopped. Public works and transport departments in the northwest continued monitoring water conditions and remained ready to intervene to facilitate travel. By: ង៉ែត ពិសាន្ត
