On the afternoon of July 8, law enforcement officers in Banteay Meanchey province, Cambodia, conducted a targeted raid in Sisophon city and uncovered a newly established online and telecommunications scam site in an unusual case involving a single suspected operator. According to police, unlike a conventional scam group, the site had no team working together. The suspect allegedly prepared, ran and operated the entire scheme independently, making it a rare suspected one-man scam operation. The detained suspect was identified as Sun Virak, a 22-year-old Cambodian national. Investigators said he controlled the site and alone carried out all its alleged scam activities and operations. Officers seized one desktop computer set at the scene, comprising the computer tower, monitor and keyboard. Further investigation of the case was continuing.
