At just nine years old, the girls in the “Girl Digital” team from Kesararam Primary School in Siem Reap province have been showing remarkable ability: learning to code, creating games, working together to solve problems and presenting their projects with confidence. Through “Game Changers Coalition”, a UNICEF-supported initiative working with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and actively coordinated by the Department of Digital Transformation to teach children digital and STEAM skills, these young pupils created their first game. They also competed and received an encouragement award at Cambodia’s National Game Jam in December 2025. On this “World Youth Skills Day”, we congratulate them on their outstanding achievements. Equipping the next generation with digital and STEAM skills is extremely important: possibilities can become reality when every child has the opportunities, guidance and tools needed to build skills for a brighter future.
