On the morning of July 31, Preah Sihanouk Governor Mang Sineth led a working group to Koh Rong to inspect the damage caused by heavy rain and strong winds and provide guidance on emergency response and recovery work. The severe weather reportedly damaged some homes, toppled electricity poles and affected several roads to varying degrees, disrupting residents’ livelihoods and daily life. On July 30, Koh Rong Mayor 列速旺 had already led a municipal working group to 高德 village in Koh Rong Sanloem sangkat to inspect roads, homes and other infrastructure affected by persistent rain and standing water, and assess the situation in detail. The provincial administration said the inspections aimed to assess the damage comprehensively, develop timely response measures, coordinate urgent repairs and recovery work, safeguard residents’ lives and property, and minimise the disaster’s impact.
