The latest data from Cambodia's National Institute of Statistics shows that Phnom Penh's Consumer Price Index (CPI) in July 2026 stood at 219.1 points, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%, but down 0.7% from June. The table covers Phnom Penh, with October–December 2006 as the base period (100).
Looking at major consumption categories, food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 6.6% year-on-year, housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels by 7.3%, and clothing and footwear by 6.8%, all exceeding the overall inflation rate. Among these, food and non-alcoholic beverages account for about 44.78% of the CPI consumption basket, while housing and energy make up about 17.08%, with the two combined exceeding 60%, indicating that price changes have a significant impact on residents' daily expenses.
Transportation prices rose by 2.1% year-on-year but fell by 3.1% month-on-month; food decreased by 0.7% month-on-month, and housing and energy by 0.3%. Additionally, categories such as recreation, culture, miscellaneous goods, and services all saw year-on-year increases.
The data shows that although prices fell month-on-month in July, food, housing and energy prices remained higher than a year earlier, and the future price trend is still worth watching.
