On-device data and permissions
No account is required. Your language, saved places, exploration progress and postcards are processed and stored on your device. The app does not upload this content to its visitor counter service.
The app does not request location, contacts or microphone permission, or read existing photos. Permission to add an image to Photos is requested only when you choose to save a postcard.
Visitor numbers and online data
When you enter the map online, the app sends a randomly generated installation identifier to map.kps99tv.com to assign a visitor number, avoid duplicate counts and measure total visits. The server stores a SHA-256 hash of this identifier and a sequential visitor number.
The network service processes connection information such as IP address and request time to deliver the service and troubleshoot its operation. The native app has no advertising SDK or Google Analytics 4 integration and does not use this data for cross-app advertising tracking.
Photos, sharing and external links
Saving a postcard only adds the image you choose to Photos; it does not read other images in your library. You can manage photo permissions in iOS Settings.
If you share a postcard through the iOS share sheet or open an external map, travel guide or other link, your chosen app or website handles that action under its own privacy rules. The web map and KPS99TV website describe their data practices separately from this native app.
Retention and deletion
Local data remains on your device so you can continue exploring. You can remove saved places within the app. Uninstalling the app removes its local storage.
The server retains the identifier hash and visitor number for ongoing deduplication, with no automatic expiry currently configured. Uninstalling does not automatically delete server-side visitor records. To ask about or request deletion of a record, contact the support email below with your visitor number and request. We will check which records can be located and process the request.
Using the map
Change language: choose Language on the welcome screen or in the map’s About panel, then select Chinese, English or Khmer.
Explore places: tap a map marker or find a place in the Explorer’s journal. Scroll its detail panel to read more. Saved places stay on this device.
Offline browsing: the map and place descriptions are bundled with the app. Visitor numbering, the total visit count and external links require an internet connection. Locations and scale are artistically illustrated; use a real-world map for travel.
Save or share a postcard: after receiving a postcard, choose Save or Share and use the iOS system sheet. If saving fails, check permission to add photos and available device storage.
