Summary

Cambodia’s 12th Sea Festival is scheduled for 18–20 December 2026 in Preah Sihanouk province, with preparations reviewed at an interministerial meeting.

Cambodia’s 12th Sea Festival, described in the report as part of its fourth cycle, will be held in Preah Sihanouk province from 18 to 20 December 2026. Preparations are under way, and the event is expected to attract attention from different sectors.

On 22 October, following approval from Prime Minister Hun Manet, Tourism Minister Huot Hak, who chairs the interministerial organising committee for the Sea Festival, led a meeting to review preparations, coordinate the responsibilities of different agencies and ensure the festival runs smoothly.

This year’s festival has the theme “Sea Value: Connecting the Blue Economy with Sustainable Coastal Biodiversity.” It emphasises protecting coastal ecosystems while developing marine-related economic activities and promoting the sustainable development of tourism and natural resources.

According to the report, Prime Minister Hun Manet and his wife Pich Chanmony Hun Manet are expected to attend the opening ceremony. About 150 representatives attended the meeting, including officials from the Preah Sihanouk provincial administration and the Ministry of Tourism, members of the interministerial committee, civil society organisations, the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, tourism operators’ associations and the private sector.

The meeting aimed to refine the programme, strengthen coordination among agencies and prepare for a successful festival. The event is also intended to showcase Preah Sihanouk province’s coastal tourism resources and support local tourism and the blue economy.
