A joint operation in Bangkok's Huai Khwang district recently dismantled a suspected online gambling operation and detained three Chinese men and one Myanmar man. Police seized laptops, mobile phones, smuggled cigarettes and OTP devices as evidence.
Police said a tip to a hotline about suspicious activity at an apartment in Huai Khwang prompted the raid. Officers found four foreign men in the room. Drug searches and tests were negative, but electronic devices contained substantial gambling-platform back-office data and information on evading enforcement. Further checks suggested the group had entered as tourists but actually managed online gambling platforms and tried to pose as students to avoid checks.
Police filed allegations of illegally organizing online gambling, bringing taxable goods into the country unlawfully and illegal entry against the four suspects. The case was transferred to Huai Khwang police for further investigation. Authorities said they would continue investigating crimes involving foreigners to protect local order and security.
