On the night of November 15, an 18-year-old Cambodian woman returning home from work in Thailand was reportedly seized and sexually assaulted by seven Thai soldiers in the Cambodia–Thailand border area of Battambang province.
According to the victim and her companions, 13 people were returning together, including six women and one child. Thai black-clad soldiers took four phones and money from the group and beat, kicked, threatened and intimidated the Cambodian men with firearms. The young woman was forcibly taken away and sexually assaulted before being allowed to return to Cambodia.
